CRAFTSMAN LITE

This 1980's spec home in the Rosedale area was updated to reflect the owner’s taste: a clean arts and craft style she called "Craftsman Lite". To improve the exterior, the front porch columns were replaced with tapered columns on stone bases, and new gable end trim was added. The garage door, front door and light fixtures were also replaced.

Inside, the narrow entry to the living room was widened and the living area was enlarged by removing the low wall between it and the kitchen. A large, curved granite topped island with generous bar seating is now central to the kitchen. The all-new kitchen features custom stained alder cabinetry, mosaic glass tile backsplashes, a wine bar, and period lighting. Other improvements include new built-in cabinetry in the home office, an upgraded staircase with slate risers, wood treads, metal handrails, and new slate floors throughout the main level.
